B&B Veado obtains the
Green Key label.

When we bought this property in 2016, we were not only attracted by the character and the possibilities of this architect house, but it was also our intention to give this unique piece of architectural heritage a new sustainable future.
To this end, we have made a maximum effort to bring this house to the comfort & energy standards of 2020; however this with respect for the original character. For this total renovation we use all modern energy techniques, such as solar boiler, solar panels and condensing boiler. The energy we still buy is green energy.

However, sustainability was already ingrained in the original & timeless design by architect Paul Schellekens.

Just look at the use of the raw natural products such as wood and raw clay brick. We have also included this philosophy in the new layout for our B&B.

But as a volunteer in the social organization “Entrepreneurs for Entrepreneurs” sustainable entrepreneurship is also our personal guideline as accommodation manager. Where possible we work together with other local entrepreneurs and for our food products we mainly buy organic & FairTrade products; products produced with respect for a correct social and ecological environment.

For the cleaning products we use ecologically developed products and we also try to organize our energy consumption as optimally as possible.

All this translates into recognition as “Green Key” accommodation; a label that is awarded to accommodation that meets a series of sustainability criteria.

We are experiencing more and more - especially in these Corona times - that guests want to go on holiday close by and in an sustainable way.
